SD Certification Our SD1 provides participants with a thorough grounding in Spiral Dynamics and Dr. Clare W. Graves's ECLET model, often called "The Graves" in the NLP world, and on which SD is based. This certification will give you a chance to learn how the model can be applied in real-world settings, to interact with others who have used SD practically, and to explore its applicability to organization development and human resource aspects through a systems lens. We now require successful completion of an application project to demonstrate understanding before certificates of attendance are converted to certificates of competence. Our SD2 is a more extensive look into the theoretical base on one hand and to apply the theory to real-world applications on the other. Completion of our SD1 is a prerequisite for participating in SD 2. Based on our experience, other programs do not provide the necessary theoretical foundation to prepare students to enter our SD2 without substantial review. We do offer substantial discounts to those completing other programs to make their participation easier. This module concentrates on primary source materials and research. If you have previously taken one of these trainings and would like to join us again for a second or third time, you are considered a "Repeater" and entitled to special rates. If you haven't participated in NVCC's SD1 since 2001 or our SD2 since late 2002, please be aware of the dramatic changes in these programs. They have been 'renovated' and updated to include much new, in-depth, Gravesian material. As ever, we concentrate of the foundational work so students are equipped to carry the work forward from a sound base.
Good outcomes begin with effective analysis. For instance, we have noticed that many people in the SD community still miss obvious signs of the core systems. We've addressed this by including greater and deeper coverage of the Systems Recognition Principles and by focusing more attention on the essential Gravesian elements of the model. On the whole, after completing these programs, students spot the systems with greater accuracy and are able to use the model more effectively as a result.
More than that, though, we teach the theory behind the colours - the emergent bio-psycho-social-systems perspective – so, you will learn how to think in new ways.
In SD2 we've revamped 40% of the program and focus on the transitions between systems in greater depth with direct, practical applications to issues you bring with you. Our approach is to help you systemically integrate all aspects of the model in practical ways so you can incorporate this point of view into your approaches to consulting, training, managing, leading, and interacting with others and the world.
